Doha: HH the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani received a telephone call on Sunday from HE Prime Minister of the United Kingdom, Andy Burnham, who expressed his sincere condolences on the demise of HH the late Father Emir, Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al-Thani.

According to Qatar News Agency, HH the Amir also hosted HE President of the Supreme Judicial Council of the Republic of Iraq Dr. Faiq Zidan at his office in Lusail Palace on Sunday morning. On the same day, HE Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al-Thani met with HE Acting Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uganda Haruna Kasolo Kyeyune, currently visiting the country.

Further diplomatic engagements involved HE Prime Minister Sheikh Mohammed holding a phone call with HE Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Turkiye Hakan Fidan, emphasizing the need for dialogue and diplomacy in accordance with the memorandum of understanding between the United States and Iran. He also stressed the importance of maintaining freedom of navigation in the Strait of Hormuz and ensuring regional security.

Other notable communications included conversations between HE Prime Minister Sheikh Mohammed and his counterparts from the United Arab Emirates, Oman, and Saudi Arabia, focusing on bilateral relations and regional developments. HE Speaker of the Shura Council Hassan bin Abdullah Al Ghanim received a written message from HE Speaker of the National Assembly of Azerbaijan Sahiba Gafarova, discussing bilateral relations and joint coordination.

Additionally, virtual talks were held between Qatar and Saudi Arabia to enhance cooperation in trade and logistics. Other meetings included discussions between HE Minister of Labor Dr. Ali bin Samikh Al Marri and HE Ambassador of Singapore Pong Kok Tian, as well as phone calls involving Lebanese affairs and security cooperation with Saudi Arabia.

Lastly, HE Minister of State for International Cooperation Dr. Maryam bint Ali bin Nasser Al Misnad met with HE Ambassador of Ukraine to the State of Qatar Andrii Kuzmenko, highlighting Qatar's ongoing efforts to strengthen international partnerships.
