Washington:Apple has launched its latest iPad mini 2026, which comes equipped with an 8.5-inch OLED screen and the powerful A20 Pro processor. This new version also includes enhancements in sound, connectivity, and artificial intelligence processing capabilities, and is priced starting at $700.

According to Qatar News Agency, the new iPad mini features a nano-texture screen option designed to reduce reflections. The OLED screen achieves a peak brightness of 1,200 nits, making it twice as bright as the 2024 model. It maintains a brightness of 600 nits for both SDR and HDR content, as stated by Apple.

The OLED screen is the most significant upgrade, offering deeper colors and improved contrast, particularly for video and photo viewing. Apple has introduced an "Acoustic Display" audio technology, integrating low-frequency speakers into the screen to enhance bass depth and volume. The device's body is sealed for water and dust protection, earning an IP67 rating.

The iPad mini's A20 Pro processor, previously seen in the iPhone 18 Pro, delivers superior performance compared to the A17 Pro processor used in the 2024 model. This processor boosts the speed of daily tasks and enhances AI processing capabilities, allowing for local operation of large language models without full cloud dependency. An N1 chip supports Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 6, and Thread technology.

The cellular version includes a C2 modem, offering 50% higher data speed than the previous generation. For photography, the device includes a 12-megapixel Center Stage camera for video calls and a rear 12MP camera with Smart HDR 4 and 4K video capture at 60 frames per second.
