Arab League Calls for End to Israeli Occupation and Establishment of Palestinian State

Cairo:The General Secretariat of the Arab League has emphasized the urgent need to end the illegal Israeli occupation and to establish an independent Palestinian state with East Jerusalem as its capital. This call aligns with international law, relevant international legitimacy resolutions, and the Arab Peace Initiative.

According to Qatar News Agency, the statement was made to mark the 109th anniversary of the Balfour Declaration issued on November 2, 1917. The General Secretariat highlighted that the declaration was a pivotal turning point that led to the Nakba of the Palestinian people, resulting in their displacement and the denial of their legitimate national rights, which continue to be violated to this day.

The Arab League expressed admiration for the sacrifices, steadfastness, and resilience of the Palestinian people in their efforts to maintain their land and rights, including the right to self-determination and the establishment of a sovereign state. It reiterated its demand for the termination of the illegal occupation and the realization of a Palestinian state with East Jerusalem as its capital.

Additionally, the Arab League called on Britain and the international community to increase pressure on Israeli authorities to halt violations against the Palestinian people. It urged the international community to support the implementation of a two-state solution to achieve peace and the establishment of a Palestinian state.
