Doha: A US service member was killed and another was wounded in northern Iraq, as announced by US Central Command (CENTCOM) on Sunday. According to Qatar News Agency, CENTCOM reported that the service member lost his life while performing duties related to a controlled detonation of unexploded ordnance from a downed Iranian one-way attack drone. The incident occurred on Saturday. CENTCOM further stated that a second US service member sustained a minor injury in the same incident. The injured service member is currently receiving medical treatment.
