Beijing: The Chinese Foreign Ministry has emphasized that dialogue and negotiation represent the only correct path to resolving the situation in the Middle East, asserting that the use of force is a dead end.
According to Qatar News Agency, Mao Ning, a spokeswoman for the ministry, said at a news conference today that once the door to dialogue has been opened, it should not be closed again. She added that it is vital to maintain momentum in de-escalating the situation, pursue a political settlement, and reach a solution through dialogue and consultation that addresses the concerns of all parties.
The spokeswoman also explained that efforts should be made to reopen shipping lanes as soon as possible, in response to calls from the international community, and to maintain stable and unobstructed global production and supply chains.
She called for concerted efforts to achieve a comprehensive and lasting ceasefire as soon as possible to restore peace and stability to the Middle East at an early date.
