Czech’s Linda Noskova Wins First Wimbledon Title

London: Linda Noskova of the Czech Republic captured her first Wimbledon title and maiden Grand Slam championship on Saturday, defeating compatriot Karolina Muchova 6-2, 5-7, 6-3 in the women's singles final.

According to Qatar News Agency, the 21-year-old claimed victory after rebounding from a second-set collapse in which Muchova rallied from 5-2 down, saving multiple championship points over three consecutive games before forcing a deciding set.

Noskova regained control in the third set to secure the biggest title of her career, becoming a first-time Grand Slam champion and adding her name to the list of Wimbledon women's singles champions.
