Department of Meteorology Warns of Strong Winds and High Seas

Doha: The Department of Meteorology has issued a warning of strong winds affecting certain areas. According to its daily weather report, while the weather inshore is expected to remain fine until 6:00 am on Friday, there is an alert for strong winds at specific locations initially.

According to Qatar News Agency, the offshore weather is also predicted to be fine, with warnings of strong winds and high seas. Inshore winds are expected to be northwesterly, ranging from 12 to 22 knots and gusting up to 30 knots in certain areas at first, before decreasing to 5 to 15 knots later. Offshore, winds will be northwesterly at 12 to 22 knots, with gusts reaching up to 28 knots.

The sea state inshore is forecasted to be between 2 to 4 feet, rising to 5 feet at times, while offshore conditions will range from 4 to 7 feet, potentially rising to 9 feet. Visibility inshore is expected to be between 4 to 8 kilometers, while offshore visibility will range from 5 to 9 kilometers.
