Doha: European stock indexes opened higher on Monday, benefiting from a decline in oil prices, as investors looked ahead to a busy week of central bank decisions and corporate earnings announcements.
According to Qatar News Agency, the pan-European STOXX 600 index rose 0.8 percent to 649.34 points. Germany's DAX index in Frankfurt gained 1.43 percent, while France's CAC 40 index on the Paris Stock Exchange advanced 1.01 percent.
Britain's FTSE 100 index in London also rose 0.64 percent, while Milan's stock exchange index added 0.70 percent. Investors are closely monitoring the upcoming decisions from central banks and the release of corporate earnings reports, which are expected to influence market movements throughout the week.
