Gold Drops 0.5% to Two-Week Low Amid Stronger Dollar

Doha: Gold prices fell 0.5% during Asian trading on Wednesday, hitting a two-week low as the dollar strengthened amid expectations of a US interest rate hike. Spot gold dropped to $4,087.68 per ounce, its lowest level since June 11, while US gold futures for August delivery also declined 1.1% to $4,105.40.

According to Qatar News Agency, other precious metals also experienced declines. Spot silver fell 1.1% to $61.36 per ounce, platinum declined 0.9% to $1,637.34, and palladium declined 1.2% to $1,223.29.
