Heavy Rain Hits Japan’s Kyushu Island, Authorities Warn of Floods, Landslides

Doha: Japanese authorities have warned of flooding and landslides on the southwestern main island of Kyushu, as heavy rain hits the region.

According to Qatar News Agency, the Japan Meteorological Agency (JMA) issued a warning early Wednesday about the potential for rivers to overflow and low-lying areas to flood. Officials in Nagasaki briefly urged all of the city's more than 380,000 residents to evacuate to safer locations due to the risk of landslides, before the warning was later lifted. Heavy rain was also reported in other parts of the region.
