Doha:The State of Kuwait has strongly condemned and denounced an attack on the Qatari liquefied natural gas (LNG) carrier "Al Mayeda" while it was sailing through the Arabian Gulf. The attack has raised significant concerns regarding maritime security and the safety of global energy supplies.

According to Qatar News Agency, the Kuwaiti Ministry of Foreign Affairs emphasized the importance of respecting international law and ensuring the freedom of maritime navigation. The ministry highlighted the necessity of safeguarding vessels and their crews from such threats and warned of the potential environmental and economic risks posed by targeting energy tankers.

The ministry further stressed the importance of identifying and holding accountable those responsible for the attack. It called for a thorough investigation to establish the circumstances surrounding the incident.

Kuwait reaffirmed its full solidarity with Qatar, expressing support for Qatar's measures to protect its security and interests. The statement included a commitment to safeguard Qatari facilities and property in light of the attack.
