Doha: The Ministry of Transport (MOT) and Qatar Society of Engineers have signed a Memorandum of Understanding focusing on land transport. This collaboration is set to enhance research and development in smart transportation, road safety, and the establishment of relevant laws and legislation.
According to Qatar News Agency, the MoU was signed by Eng. Abdullah Saif Al Sulaiti, Assistant Undersecretary for Land Transport Affairs at MOT, and Eng. Amna Mohammed Al Naama, Chairperson of the Qatar Society of Engineers. The signing took place at the Ministry of Transport's offices, marking a strategic commitment to innovation in transportation aligned with national policies and development plans.
The agreement aims to bolster the expertise of national talents in road transportation through specialized training, workshops, educational sessions, and upskilling programs. These initiatives are designed to build capacity in mobility innovation and provide MOT's Land Transport Affairs engineering personnel with access to training programs. The collaboration is guided by the MOT Strategy, National Development Strategy, and Qatar National Vision 2030.
