Over 60,000 Palestinians Attend Friday Prayers at Al Aqsa Amid Security Measures

Jerusalem: More than 60,000 Palestinians performed Friday prayers at Al Aqsa Mosque amid tightened Israeli security measures. The Islamic Waqf Department in Jerusalem reported that tens of thousands of worshipers arrived at the mosque compound from the early morning despite restrictions and intensified measures imposed by Israeli authorities at the mosque's gates and around the Old City.

According to Qatar News Agency, Israeli authorities have prevented thousands of Palestinians from the West Bank and Gaza from accessing Al Aqsa Mosque for prayers for the past three years. Despite these challenges, the significant turnout at the mosque underscores the determination of worshipers to continue their religious practices. The heightened security measures have been a point of contention, with many Palestinians expressing concerns over access to religious sites.
