Qatar Clinches Prestigious WSIS 2026 Award for Cybersecurity

Geneva: The State of Qatar, through its National Cyber Security Agency, has been honored with the World Summit on the Information Society (WSIS) 2026 Award for the second consecutive year. The accolade was awarded in the ALC5 category, which focuses on building confidence and security in the use of information and communication technologies.

According to Qatar News Agency, the award was received by Ahmed Mohammed Al-Mutawa Al Hammadi, the Director General of the National Cyber Security Agency, during an official ceremony held in Geneva. This recognition comes after a competitive selection process that involved numerous projects from various countries worldwide. Each nominated project was subjected to a rigorous evaluation process, which included public voting, expert assessments, and reviews by specialized committees.

The winning project, Qatar's National Cybersecurity Training Program, was selected for its notable contribution to the objectives of the World Summit on the Information Society. It also supports the implementation of the 2030 Sustainable Development Agenda, marking a significant milestone in Qatar's ongoing efforts to enhance global cybersecurity initiatives.
