Jerusalem:Qatar The State of Qatar has expressed strong condemnation of Colombia's decision to open an embassy in Jerusalem, which is under occupation. Qatar has labeled this action as a breach of international law and relevant international resolutions, citing in particular UN Security Council Resolution 478 from 1980.

According to Qatar News Agency, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs released a statement on Thursday reiterating Qatar's firm rejection of any steps that would alter the historical and legal status quo of Jerusalem. The statement urged the international community to take responsibility and act against efforts to change the reality in the occupied city, emphasizing the importance of preserving its historical and legal status and protecting the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people.
