Qatar Engages in GCC Justice Undersecretaries Meeting to Foster Judicial Cooperation


Riyadh: The State of Qatar participated in the 28th meeting of Their Excellencies the Undersecretaries of the Ministries of Justice in the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries, hosted at the GCC General Secretariat headquarters in Riyadh. The Qatari delegation was led by HE Undersecretary of the Ministry of Justice, Saeed bin Abdullah Al Suwaidi.



According to Qatar News Agency, the meeting focused on topics aimed at enhancing joint judicial, legal, and legislative cooperation among the GCC Ministries of Justice. Among the key discussions was an initiative to establish an electronic platform for exchanging notices and judicial assistance, which is expected to streamline and improve communication and collaboration across the region.



Furthermore, the participants deliberated on the draft unified rules for combating cybercrime within the GCC countries, reflecting a collective effort to address and manage digital threats effectively. The meeting also involved reviewing recommendations from the GCC Committee of Directors and Heads of Legal and Judicial Training Centers and Institutes, leading to the adoption of decisions to strengthen legal education and training frameworks within the GCC.
