Macao: The Qatar Philatelic and Numismatic Center, affiliated with the Ministry of Culture, is participating in the Macao 2026 Specialized World Stamp Exhibition (MACAO 2026) in China from June 26 to July 1. This marks a significant involvement of Qatar in one of the world's prestigious philatelic events, showcasing the country's dedication to the preservation and celebration of its postal history. According to Qatar News Agency, the center will present five stamp displays that have won several international medals. These include the first regular stamps of the State of Qatar, the history of stamps of the United Kingdom of Libya, and the censored envelopes of Lebanon during World War II. Additionally, the exhibition will feature the postal history of the Kingdom of Bahrain, as well as the history of Aden stamps. The event, held under the auspices of the World Philatelic Federation (FIP), will also host meetings of the Executive Committee of the Asian Philatelic Federation (FIAP). The participation of the Qa tar Philatelic and Numismatic Center is part of its ongoing commitment to engage in international exhibitions organized by the FIP and FIAP, reflecting its active membership in both federations. The center is focused on nurturing and promoting the hobby of collecting stamps and coins. It aims to advance the practice and provide supportive conditions for its development, while also fostering a culture of acquisition among enthusiasts.
