Doha: Qatar's men's national volleyball team secured its first win of the 2026 Asian Men's Volleyball Cup, defeating Thailand in straight sets on Sunday in the tournament being held in Ahmedabad, India, through June 29. According to Qatar News Agency, Qatar delivered a strong performance throughout the match and established its technical superiority from the outset, sweeping all three sets to rebound from its opening-round loss to Oman, which won in five sets. The victory significantly boosts Qatar's chances of securing one of the qualification spots for the knockout stage. Qatar will continue its first-round campaign against Indonesia on Monday, before facing Bahrain on June 25. The team will conclude its group-stage schedule against South Korea on June 26 as it seeks to advance to the next round of the competition.
