Yaroslavl: Federal Security Service of the Russian Federation (FSB) reported today that it thwarted an armed attack involving toxic chemical substances against workers at an institution affiliated with the military-industrial complex in Yaroslavl region, central Russia.

According to Qatar News Agency, a statement by the FSB revealed that a “terrorist act” planned by Ukrainian intelligence services was foiled, in which toxic chemicals were to be used to poison workers at one of the institutions of the military-industrial complex in the Yaroslavl region.

The statement further detailed that a Russian citizen was detained after obtaining two bottles containing dangerous chemicals that cause respiratory burns from a hideout set up by Ukrainian intelligence services. The individual intended to pour the poison into the ventilation systems of the military-industrial complex workers’ vehicles.

On January 4, Russian Federal Security Service announced the arrest of four Russian citizens who were planning to carry out an attack using explosive devices in crowded areas in the Russian city of Yekaterinburg.
