Vancouver: Team Qatar are preparing for their match against Canada in the 2nd round of Group B competitions at the FIFA World Cup 2026, co-hosted by the United States, Canada, and Mexico. The match is set to take place at BC Place Vancouver on Friday at 1:00 a.m. Doha time. This contest will serve as an opportunity for Qatar to strengthen their chances of advancing to the next round, following their 1-1 draw against Switzerland in their opening match at San Francisco Bay Area Stadium.
According to Qatar News Agency, Team Qatar is already in Vancouver and will hold their final training session ahead of the match at Killarney Park on Wednesday. The training session will be preceded by a pre-match press conference, attended by Qatar head coach Julen Lopetegui and Canada head coach Jesse Marsch.
Before departing for Canada, Coach Lopetegui emphasized the importance of maintaining focus in their second match. He highlighted that securing Qatar's first-ever World Cup point against Switzerland was significant but stressed the need to increase efforts against Canada to secure a place in the knockout stage.
Qatar fans have already arrived in Vancouver in coordinated groups, managed by the Qatar Football Association. The Association launched the Qatar fan service office in Vancouver to assist fans with transportation and provide them with necessary services, ensuring they have ideal conditions to support the national team.
