President of the Republic Abdul Latif Jamal Rashid renewed his call on the international community to shoulder its legal and moral responsibilities and make rapid and effective efforts to stop the war and prevent massacres against civilians. He said in a statement: "We condemn in the strongest terms the aggression that our brotherly Lebanon is being subjected to, which led to the martyrdom and injury of hundreds of citizens, and it is a dangerous development that poses a real threat to security and stability in the region." He added: "While we affirm Iraq's support for its brothers in Lebanon and Palestine, we call for strengthening full solidarity with the two brotherly peoples, and we renew our call on the international community to shoulder its legal and moral responsibilities and make rapid and effective efforts to stop the war and prevent massacres against civilians."
