Beirut: Three people have been killed and six others injured in an Israeli air strike in eastern Lebanon, according to the Lebanese health ministry.
According to Qatar News Agency, the ministry's Emergency Operations Center stated that the strike targeted the town of Ain Bourday in the Baalbek district. It reported the casualty figures as preliminary and noted that rescue efforts are still ongoing.
Earlier in the day, the health ministry had announced that a series of Israeli air strikes conducted from midnight through the morning resulted in at least 18 fatalities and 33 injuries across various parts of Lebanon.
The recent attacks have occurred amid persistent tensions, raising concerns about the potential for further escalation of violence in the region.
Authorities continue to assess the damage and verify casualty numbers.
