Turkiye: Turkiye announced the deployment of five F-16 fighter jets and their crews to Estonia as part of a NATO air policing mission. The Turkish Ministry of Defense confirmed that the deployment, which is part of NATO's enhanced air policing mission, has been finalized at the Amari Air Base in Estonia.

According to Qatar News Agency, the Turkish Ministry of Defense issued a press release stating that the fighter jets will be stationed in Estonia from August 1st to November 30th. The deployment aims to enhance the security of the Baltic states' airspace, contributing to the alliance's joint air defense efforts.

The ministry also indicated that Turkiye will assume command of the mission from Portugal on Friday. This transition underscores Turkiye's active role within the NATO alliance and its commitment to regional security.

In a related event, it is noted that French Rafale fighter jets, also part of NATO forces stationed in the Baltic region, engaged in air policing activities in early June, when they intercepted and shot down a stray drone over Latvian airspace.
