Egypt: Egypt and Belgium played to a 1-1 draw in their opening Group G match of the 2026 FIFA World Cup at Seattle Stadium on Monday.

According to Qatar News Agency, Egypt took the lead in the 19th minute through Emam Ashour. Belgium managed to equalize in the 66th minute when Mohamed Hany inadvertently turned the ball into his own net.

The result earned each side a point in the Group G standings. Egypt will face New Zealand in its second group-stage match, while Belgium will take on Iran on Monday.
