Barcelona Demand Resignation of La Liga President

Barcelona demanded Monday the resignation of La Liga president Javier Tebas, after the latter allegedly provided false evidence in Barcelona's refereeing scandal.

"Given the gravity of the information that has appeared today Monday in La Vanguardia in which La Liga president Javier Tebas is linked to the presentation of false evidence to the public prosecutor to incriminate our club, FC Barcelona wishes to expresses its deepest indignation, anger and dismay," Barcelona said in a statement.

The club added in the statement that La Liga President's alleged actions should be enough reason for him to resign to maintain the integrity of the presidency of La Liga.

Tebas had allegedly written a letter to provide evidence to incriminate former Barcelona presidents Josep Maria Bartomeu and Sandro Rosell in the Negreira case but the evidence has been proven to be false. (QNA)
