Madinah:A cruise missile has been intercepted and destroyed in the Madinah region of Saudi Arabia, as announced by the Coalition to Restore Legitimacy in Yemen on Thursday.

According to Qatar News Agency, the coalition's official spokesperson, Maj. Gen. Turki Al Maliki, confirmed the interception in a statement.

This development follows the coalition's announcement two days prior of a military operation aimed at neutralizing Houthi capabilities that threaten Saudi Arabia, Yemen, the southern Red Sea, and maritime routes.
