Israeli Authorities Extend Administrative Detention for 21 Palestinian Prisoners

Baku:The Israeli occupation authorities have issued and renewed administrative detention orders for 21 Palestinian prisoners, as announced by the Commission of Detainees and Ex-Detainees Affairs.

According to Qatar News Agency, these detention orders include both new and renewed terms for the prisoners, with varying periods of confinement.

Administrative detention in Israel permits imprisonment without charge or trial, and detainees, along with their defense lawyers, are denied access to the evidence files. This practice is considered a violation of international humanitarian law, and Israel is unique in its systematic use of such detentions.

The Israeli authorities justify the use of administrative detention by referencing "secret files" that are not disclosed, resulting in detainees being unaware of the reasons for their arrest or the length of their detention.
