Doha: The Eritrean community in Qatar convened for its 10th congress in Doha on 31 July, under the theme "Together for a Bright Future." This significant event saw the participation of numerous nationals committed to discussing and contributing to the development of their community and homeland.
According to African Press Organization, the congress was graced by the presence of Mr. Ali Ibrahim, Eritrea's Ambassador to Qatar. He praised the community for its active involvement in national development programs and urged them to bolster their organizational capacity and mutual support.
The assembly featured extensive discussions on the activity reports presented, leading to the adoption of various recommendations aimed at enhancing the community's future initiatives. In a key development, participants elected a new executive committee tasked with spearheading these newly adopted programs.
Ambassador Ali Ibrahim lauded the community's active engagement during the congress and encouraged them to support the newly elected executive committee in its endeavors. Additionally, he urged the committee to motivate nationals to deepen their involvement in national affairs, reinforcing the theme of unity and collaboration for a prosperous future.
