Manama:Their Excellencies, the Ministers of Information from the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries, emphasized the importance of cohesion and solidarity among the GCC states, their leaderships, and peoples as a crucial pillar for maintaining security, stability, and safeguarding Gulf achievements.

According to Qatar News Agency, the ministers highlighted that Gulf unity is a shared responsibility and an unwavering commitment among the states. This commitment gains significance in the current circumstances to tackle challenges and their repercussions.

The statements were made at the conclusion of the 29th meeting of the Committee of Ministers of Information of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) member states, held in the Kingdom of Bahrain. The meeting included participation from the Ministers of Information of the GCC countries and was attended by the Secretary-General of the GCC. The Qatar delegation was led by HE Chairman of the Qatar Media Corporation, Sheikh Hamad bin Thamer Al-Thani.

The GCC Information Ministers firmly rejected any attempts to undermine Gulf unity or offend the GCC states, their symbols, and peoples. They stressed the importance of intensifying the monitoring and documentation of violations across media outlets and digital platforms and taking all necessary legal measures to hold perpetrators accountable, applying national regulations and relevant Gulf decisions and regulations.

The ministers also called on media institutions, professionals, and social media users to adhere to their responsibilities, ensuring accuracy and sourcing information from official channels, while avoiding the dissemination of offensive or misleading content. They emphasized that the current sensitive phase requires concerted efforts to safeguard Gulf unity, strengthen fraternal ties among GCC peoples, and support measures that enhance their security and stability.
