Islamabad: Foreign Minister of Pakistan, Muhammad Ishaq Dar, and the head of the Federal Department of Foreign Affairs of Switzerland, Ignazio Cassis, engaged in a phone conversation on Saturday to discuss the latest developments regarding the understandings reached between the United States and Iran.
According to Qatar News Agency, Pakistan's Foreign Ministry released a statement highlighting that both the Pakistani and Swiss sides welcomed the progress toward an understanding between Washington and Tehran. The ministers expressed hope that these ongoing efforts would soon lead to peace and stability in the region.
The discussions follow an announcement made on Thursday by US President Donald Trump, indicating that US Vice President JD Vance will attend the signing ceremony of the US-Iran deal. The ceremony is expected to take place in Europe early this week.
