Qatar Leads Arab Nations in Global Peace Index, Excels in Diplomacy and Healthcare

Doha: In its editorial, Al-Arab newspaper noted that this is not the first time that Qatar ranked first among Arab countries in the Global Peace Index, issued by the Institute for Economics and Peace in Australia. The newspaper added that Qatar has maintained its regional leadership in this global ranking, reflecting the country's ongoing national efforts to promote peace, internal stability, and resilience in the face of regional and global challenges.

According to Qatar News Agency, Al-Arab emphasized that Qatar's advancement in international rankings, ahead of many developed nations, and its position as the top-ranked country in the Middle East and North Africa in the 2026 Global Peace Index, demonstrate the success of the state approach in strengthening security and stability. This is achieved by improving the quality of life for everyone living in the country, despite the challenges faced by Qatar and the wider region in recent years. The editorial highlighted that the significant progress Qatar has achieved in security is rooted in several objective factors, including advanced infrastructure, modern facilities, technology-driven security systems, and a strategic vision focused on strengthening community partnerships to preserve public safety and social peace.

Al-Sharq newspaper highlighted Qatar's continued full support for all efforts and initiatives aimed at enhancing regional security and stability and achieving sustainable solutions to outstanding issues through dialogue and peaceful means. The newspaper explained that Qatar's role in negotiations is both important and exceptional in advancing dialogue toward sustainable agreements that enhance prospects for peace and stability in the region, particularly amidst challenges and tensions characterizing relations between the United States and Iran. Ongoing diplomatic efforts have helped preserve communication channels and strengthen opportunities for political solutions, thereby supporting regional security and preventing further escalation.

The Peninsula noted that the State of Qatar has reaffirmed a principle core to modern healthcare and human rights: safeguarding human dignity. During the interactive dialogue with the Special Rapporteur on the right to health at the 62nd session of the United Nations Human Rights Council in Geneva, Qatar underscored its belief in the right to the highest attainable standard of physical and mental health for every individual without discrimination. This reflects a broader national vision that places people at the center of healthcare policy, advancing a comprehensive healthcare system designed to provide high-quality medical services and uphold values such as privacy, autonomy, informed consent, and equality of access.

The adoption of the Patients Rights and Responsibilities Charter by the Ministry of Public Health represents a notable milestone. The Charter guarantees access to safe, high-quality healthcare without discrimination, ensuring that patient dignity, privacy, and rights are protected throughout their healthcare journey. Qatar's engagement with the international community underscores its determination to contribute to global efforts aimed at promoting health equity and protecting human dignity.
