Doha: Qatar Tourism (QT) officially launched the fourth edition of the Qatar Tourism Awards. The Qatar Tourism Awards is an initiative by Qatar Tourism, developed in collaboration with the World Tourism Organization (UN Tourism), to recognize individuals and businesses across Qatar's tourism and hospitality sector for their outstanding contributions to service excellence.

According to Qatar News Agency, Chief of the Tourism Development Sector at Qatar Tourism Omar Abdulrahman Al Jaber emphasized the importance of the awards as a platform for acknowledging exceptional tourism experiences in Qatar. He noted the program's evolution and growth, highlighting its role in fostering competitiveness within Qatar's tourism sector. He reiterated QT's commitment to transparency, credibility, and innovation through its partnership with UN Tourism.

Director of International Development and Cooperation at UN Tourism Jaime I. Mayaki expressed pride in the strategic partnership with Qatar Tourism. He emphasized the awards' expanding influence and significance in the region, contributing to a competitive and sustainable tourism future for Qatar.

Qatar Tourism has introduced a new application portal developed in collaboration with Hayya Platform, aimed at enhancing accessibility for applicants. The platform offers a streamlined application process, simplified profile creation, and improved navigation, which facilitates efficient management of submissions.

The evaluation of applications will involve an initial assessment by Qatar Tourism and UN Tourism, followed by a final evaluation conducted by an independent panel of local and international experts. The panel members will be announced later to ensure transparency.

To assist applicants, Qatar Tourism will organize educational workshops throughout the application period. These workshops will provide guidance on various aspects of the application process. Additionally, applicants can access support and submit inquiries through Qatar Tourism's contact centers.

The winners of the fourth edition of the Qatar Tourism Awards will be announced at an official ceremony later this year. This initiative is part of Qatar Tourism's efforts to support excellence and recognize contributions that enhance Qatar's position as a leading global tourism destination.
