Justice Minister Highlights Qatar’s Institutional Readiness and Legislative Achievements Amid Regional Developments

Doha: The Minister of Justice and Minister of State for Cabinet Affairs Ibrahim bin Ali Al Mohannadi has announced that the country's institutions have showcased exceptional readiness and efficiency in responding to regional developments and extraordinary circumstances. This capability is central to the national resilience framework, which aims to enhance government performance and societal benefits.

According to Qatar News Agency, during a media briefing, Al Mohannadi detailed the accomplishments and legislative advancements of the Cabinet from October 2025 to the present. He emphasized the uninterrupted provision of services by government entities despite regional challenges, facilitated by adaptive operational plans and a robust digital infrastructure. The minister outlined future plans aimed at improving government services and performance.

Al Mohannadi highlighted that the Cabinet's decisions reflect a comprehensive approach focused on legislative development, economic modernization, societal cohesion, environmental protection, and national transformation. He noted significant legislative activities, including over 120 decisions and initiatives, with key contributions to the Qatar National Vision 2030 and the Third National Development Strategy 2024-2030.

The minister also discussed legislative efforts, such as a draft Amiri decision to regulate legislation preparation, and the Shura Council's approval of a law governing international treaties. In social development, he mentioned the Cabinet's review of a draft law on children's digital protection and social professions, alongside Law No. 6 of 2026 promoting volunteerism within the Gulf Cooperation Council states.

In infrastructure and social sectors, amendments to architectural requirements and a draft traffic law were acknowledged, aiming to meet Qatari family needs and enhance road safety. Educational and labor market reforms were also highlighted, with new laws targeting private school regulation, labor dispute resolution, and national service assignments.

Al Mohannadi underscored initiatives to boost investment and economic diversification by amending laws related to non-Qatari capital investment and real estate. He also noted the Cabinet's approval of national product procurement policies to stimulate business and improve the justice system's efficiency through legislative amendments.

Digital transformation was another focus, with Qatar ranking highly in global digital competitiveness and economic resilience. Environmental protection efforts were also advanced with draft laws on fuel station oversight and environmental sustainability.

In response to journalists' inquiries, Al Mohannadi explained the government's unified AI strategy, aligned with the Qatar Digital Agenda 2030 and National Artificial Intelligence Strategy. He highlighted efforts to attract investment, supported by modern infrastructure, economic legislation, and long-term planning.

Al Mohannadi concluded by emphasizing legislative developments aimed at evolving the legal framework, reflecting national strategies and priorities. He assured that the new legislative framework ensures coherency and trust in Qatar's legal system, benefiting business owners and investors alike.
