Doha: The Ministry of Public Health (MOPH) recently convened a national meeting aimed at enhancing cooperation and coordination among various entities and institutions involved in eye health across Qatar. The meeting focused on implementing national priorities to improve eye health services in the country.
According to Qatar News Agency, the meeting reviewed the current state of eye health in Qatar, highlighting key achievements and initiatives already in place. Discussions included identifying challenges and opportunities to further improve service delivery and foster collaboration among stakeholders.
Sheikh Dr Mohamed bin Hamad Al-Thani, Director of the Non-Communicable Diseases Prevention Programmes Department at MOPH, presented the national action plan for eye health and blindness prevention. He emphasized future objectives aimed at developing and elevating service quality in this sector.
Participants explored ways to better integrate and coordinate efforts among concerned parties. These efforts are crucial for the prevention and early detection of eye diseases and are instrumental in achieving excellence in eye health services and optimal health outcomes.
The meeting is part of MOPH's ongoing commitment to advance eye health services, support national prevention efforts, and incorporate innovations and technologies, such as artificial intelligence, to enhance service quality and health outcomes.
