Vienna: Qatar Chamber participated in the 'Private Sector Market-Based Response' dialogue on Syria, Palestine, and Sudan, held as part of the 'UNIDO Dialogue for Industrial Recovery' at the Vienna International Centre. Qatar Chamber was represented by its Acting General Manager, Ali Bu Sherbak Al Mansori.

According to Qatar News Agency, the event was attended by Director General of the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO), Gerd Muller; Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Accounting and Auditing Organization for Islamic Financial Institutions (AAOIFI), Sheikh Ebrahim bin Khalifa Al Khalifa; Chairman of the Regional Network for Social Responsibility, Dr. Yousif Abdul Ghaffar; Secretary-General of the Union of Arab Chambers, Dr. Khaled Hanafy; and a number of secretaries-general of joint Arab-foreign chambers.

In his remarks, Al Mansori emphasized the need for all parties to progress from identifying needs to building practical partnerships capable of creating real and sustainable impact, particularly in addressing the economic and development challenges facing Syria, Palestine, and Sudan. He highlighted the role of the private sector as a strategic partner in leading economic and industrial recovery efforts, stimulating growth, creating job opportunities, and revitalizing value and production chains.

Al Mansori further noted that Qatar Chamber believes sustainable recovery begins with rebuilding productive economies, enhancing the business environment, empowering entrepreneurs and small and medium-sized enterprises, and supporting industrial sectors capable of generating added value and achieving relative economic self-sufficiency for local communities. He expressed confidence that the Qatari and Arab private sectors are ready to contribute to industrial recovery efforts in brotherly countries by exploring investment opportunities, developing productive projects, transferring expertise and knowledge, and strengthening economic partnerships that support sustainable growth and social stability.

He added that Qatar Chamber looks forward to collaborating with UNIDO, the Union of Arab Chambers, the Regional Network for Social Responsibility, and all partners to support initiatives that contribute to industrial recovery and comprehensive economic development in brotherly countries.

Dr. Khaled Hanafy, Secretary-General of the Union of Arab Chambers, presented a joint proposal by the Union of Arab Chambers, UNIDO, and the Regional Network for Social Responsibility. The proposal aims to establish a fund to facilitate economic and social recovery in Syria, Palestine, and Sudan in the first phase, with plans to expand to other Arab countries in need. The proposed fund would not only provide financing but also promote access to financing, build partnerships among Arab, regional, and international organizations, and contribute to social, economic, and political stability.
