Qatar’s Support for Peace Efforts in US-Iran Negotiations and Domestic Development Initiatives

Doha: Al-Sharq newspaper has highlighted Qatar's satisfaction with the progress in negotiations between the United States and Iran, expressing optimism over the announcement by Pakistani mediators of a finalized peace agreement text. The editorial emphasized Qatar's full support for Pakistani mediation efforts aimed at resolving the crisis through peaceful means.

According to Qatar News Agency, Al-Sharq's editorial reiterated Qatar's commitment to settling disputes through dialogue, enhancing regional security by supporting mediation efforts, and maintaining stability in the Strait of Hormuz-a vital waterway for global trade and energy security. The newspaper stressed that any agreement reducing tensions would positively impact Gulf security and the global economy.

On a domestic level, Al-Arab newspaper focused on the Ministry of Municipality's ambitious projects, aligning with Qatar National Vision 2030. The ministry has designated 1,148 sites for infrastructure development, with road projects taking precedence, reflecting efforts to improve connectivity and traffic flow. The editorial also noted significant allocations for telecommunications and electricity facilities to support urban and population growth.

In addition, Al-Arab highlighted initiatives to expand green spaces, with new and renovated parks meeting international standards, aiming to enhance the quality of life and promote sustainable development in coordination with the Public Works Authority (Ashghal).

Meanwhile, the Peninsula newspaper celebrated Qatar's debut in the 24 Hours of Le Mans endurance race under the headline "From Lusail to Le Mans". The editorial detailed the involvement of Team Qatar, led by drivers Abdulla Al-Khelaifi, Julian Hanses, and Giuliano Alesi, marking a milestone in Qatar's motorsport journey. The Peninsula noted Qatar's evolution from hosting global racing events to actively participating and competing in them, signifying the country's growing presence in international motorsport.
